Researchers from University of Trento (Italy) and Swedish Institute for Food and Biotechnology of Gothenburg (Sweden) used PhAST Blue equipment to assess new food processing technologies in the inactivation of Listeria monocytogenes as alternative to traditional thermal pasteurization processes. The results show that PMA-vPCR is suitable for evaluate the viability status of microbial populations and support its application in microbiological quality control in the food industry.
